Locally, I am leading a number of campaigns to promote issues of concern in the community. Each campaign stands the best chance of succes if local people join with me to take action and so help demonstrate the depth and breadth of our grassroots support.
Survey of Princess Alexandra Hospital's Services - July 2007 - At the end of last year the provision of NHS services locally and nationally developed as a major issue of concern with stories abounding in the press about large financial deficits and potential cuts. Wanting to know and understand what constituents thought about the PAH services, Bill conducted a survey. Clickabove to learn how action is being taken on this issue.
'Highway Robbery: It's Time For Harlow To Get Its Fair Share Of Funding' - Essex County Council takes 75% of our Council Tax but we don't get a fair share back for our roads and pavements. The County Council will shortly make a decision on a £5 million bid for road improvements in Harlow - join me to put pressure on the Tories at County Hall to back the bid!
'Tommy Jones Anti-Knife Crime Petition' - I've worked with Harlow anti-knife crime campaigner Mel Hopwood for new measures to tackle the culture of knives among young people today. We'll be presenting the petition to the Home Office Minister later this year - there's still time to add your voice to this campaign.
'Ten Ways To Cut Your Carbon' - the threat of climate change is now well known. Tackling the problems will take concerted international action. But each one of us, in our own lives, can make a difference as well. Find out how, in 10 steps, you can help cut your carbon footprint! |
